Last year, out of some pretty unforeseen circumstances, The (Socially) Distance(d) was born. With over 100 riders from 14 different countries taking part across the world, it was clear that virtual events can help us connect now more than ever.
We’re bringing our popular (Socially) Distance(d) ride back for a 2021 early season jolly on the weekend of the 27-28th February, with a slightly different format
Join Bombtrack Bicycle Co and ADVNTR.cc to ride a route of your own making, within local C-19 restrictions, planning and sharing it with us using komoot.
Just like before, we’ll have some things for you to seek out or enjoy on your ride, which can be as long or as short as you like (or restrictions allow)!.
This is not just any old ride, there’s competition involved and prizes to be won! Stay tuned for updates about our brilliant selection of cycling goods on offer for the most adventurous, quirky or hilarious rides.

Entrants will receive a digital task card (yes, really) by email, featuring common activities or things you might find while out riding.
Your task is to photograph these while out on your (Socially) Distance(d) adventure! Upload them to Instagram during or after your ride and use #thesociallydistanced hashtag so we call can see them.
Rather than speed or distance, we will reward your routes and photos for creativity. Upload the whole shebang to komoot. Tag and follow The Distance account to be included in the competition.
Ride a distance you are comfortable with and confident you can achieve. The (Socially) Distance(d) is all about fun times on the bike rather than pain and suffering! Some of you will be faster and travel further, some of you will take your time and enjoy the ride.
We would like to encourage you to consider keeping travel to a minimum. Explore from your front door and enjoy the trails local to you. Even the urban jungle has gravel!
Plan your ride with komoot and share your completed ride once you’ve completed your tour at the end 27th or 28th February.
It would be a shame if you didn’t share the ride, so tagging is essential.
On komoot: follow The Distance and tag them as a participant when you have completed and uploaded your route.
On Instagram: Use #thesociallydistanced so we can see your photos.
Tip: It’d be a good idea to post your photos on your Instagram feed rather than use stories so that they don’t disappear from the feed before our judges get a chance to view them. They’ll be riding too!
Self-supported is our preferred choice. Even more so in these COVID-19 times. So load up your bar bag with your favourite snacks.
