I’m sure you have all been looking forward to The Distance and joining friends old and new in the North York Moors. Unfortunately, the cycling season for 2020 is very different to what we all had hoped for.
After discussing the situation and weighing up the various scenarios with the team at Focal Events and with our sponsoring brands, we have made the decision to postpone The Distance until Summer 2021.
Even if regulations were to loosen up and allow for mass participation events to go ahead, we feel that lining up with masks and keeping a social distance at our overnight camp would hardly be in keeping with the atmosphere of The Distance. We also have to respect the wishes of the rural communities in which we ride during these events and it’s understandable that right now, they are uneasy about the prospect of new visitors.
Everyone who has entered will automatically be added to the roster for next years event. We’re still working with landowners to secure a suitable date and will announce this as soon as we can.
If you would prefer a refund, just email us ([email protected]) and we’ll arrange for your entry to be returned to you in full.
Distance Posters: If you placed an order for our limited-edition poster, relax. The print run is scheduled, and we’ll post these out to the address registered on your entry details.
